Support the Library

The Williams County Public Library truly appreciates all of the support we receive from the community -- and we depend on that support to help continue providing excellent service to our patrons.

A gift to the library is a meaningful way to honor a loved one and benefits the entire community.  Here are some examples of the types of gifts the Library accepts:

WCPL Board of Trustees

About the Board

The Williams County Public Library Board of Trustees are appointed for 7 year terms.  The Williams County Commissioners appoint 4 members and a Williams County Judge appoints the other 3 members.

Board members are volunteers and receive no compensation from the library.

Board members, when possible,  are chosen to represent all of the Williams County Public Library locations throughout the county.

Friends of the Library

Each of our six library locations has their own Friends group who help support the library by raising funds for purchasing books, audio-visual materials, supplies, and furniture and sponsoring events like our summer reading program.

Friends group members also hold annual book sales to raise funds and help out with special programming at all of our library locations.

WCPL History

1882 Bryan Library is organized as a project of the Taine Club. Originally it had 600 books and was housed in one room on the second floor of a building at the northeast corner of Lynn and High Streets.

1892 Collection moved to one room in the courthouse.
