West Unity Branch Library summer reading programs, with the theme of “A Universe of Stories”, will run from June 4 through July 25. The library will show movies and serve popcorn every Wednesday at 3:00 pm, and will hold many special programs throughout the summer months on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with all events starting at 3:00 pm, unless otherwise mentioned.
Tuesday programming will begin on June 4 where kids can meet Mr. Leu, the Science Guru. Take part in hands on science experiments with Mr. Leu in his laboratory. Learn about Ohio’s wildlife on June 11 with a naturalist from Maumee Bay State Park. On June 18, at 2:00 pm, attend Cirque Amongus, a hands on circus program, where you can learn and perform fun circus tricks! Find out all the information you’ll ever need to know on planes with the Williams County Airport on June 25. Celebrate Independence Day, on July 2 with the program, “Happy Birthday USA”! Take part in hands-on nature activities with the Williams County Soil & Water Conservation on July 9. Escape an Alien Invasion at the library on July 16. Take part in the Summer Reading Ending Party on July 23 and meet the TinCaps mascot, Johnny TinCap! Get his picture and autograph, and maybe win a prize!
Thursday programming will start on June 6 and will feature an Exotic Zoo at the library! Get up close to live exotic animals from around the world! Attend Astronaut Training Camp on June 13. Take part in outdoor fun on June 20, with Heather Jones of the Williams County YMCA. Learn about fire safety with the Brady Township Fire Dept. on June 27. There will be no special activities on July 4, as the library will be closed for Independence Day. Attend the exciting program, “Trekking across the Universe” on July 11. On July 18, discover Stardust and Moonbeams. Take part in Game Day on July 25.
