Summer Reading at Edgerton Library

Edgerton Branch Library summer reading programs, with the theme of “A Universe of Stories”, will run from June 4 through July 18. The library will hold many special programs throughout the summer months on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mark these dates on your calendar!

Create fun Make & Take Crafts every Tuesday at the library, anytime between 10:00 am through 4:00 pm.  On June 4 make a straw rocket and enjoy some gourmet popcorn! Create a Crazy Alien on June 11, while snacking on trail mix! On June 18 paint watercolor plants and munch on Rice Krispy treats. Create a one of a kind colorful space ship on June 25, and enjoy a PB snack! On July 9, make a relaxing Constellation Jar Lamp, along with a constellation treat! Create a Rocket Flinger, and decorate a space themed cookie, on July 16.

Wednesday programming will feature special guests, and exciting exhibits. The fun will kick off on June 05 at 10:00 am, when the library is turned into an Exotic Zoo! See a live kangaroo, and other exotic animals! On June 12 at 10:30 am, Kevin Kammeraad & Friends will put on a Puppet Show. On June 19 at 1:00 pm, the Challenger Learning Center will put on the out of this world program, “Mars Map Touchdown”! On June 26 at 3:00 pm, draw along with Jeff Nicholas, original illustrator humorist and story teller. July 10, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, will be Lego Club at the library. On July 17, the Challenger Learning Center will bring their Star Lab to Edgerton for Summer Reading. Learn about Native American Mythology, and view the night sky in the Star Lab! This program will be across from the library at The Village Gym. There will be 2 groups to see Star Lab. The first group will meet at 11:00 am, and the second at noon. Spaces are limited, and you must register to attend by calling 419-298-3230.

Thursday programming be held at 1:00 pm each week, unless otherwise stated. On June 6 attend Lego Club at the library. On June 13, snack on popcorn and watch Space Buddies (rated G). June 20 will be Lego Club, and on June 27 enjoy popcorn while watching A Wrinkle in Time (rated PG).  There will be no special activities on July 4, as the library will be closed for Independence Day. On July 11 stop in between 11:00 am through 2:00 pm and take part in an exciting program with Science Central! There will be space themed, hands on exhibits and learning. The Summer Reading Closing Party will be on July 18! Watch the movie Space Jam (rated PG) and cool down with some yummy ice cream!
