Edgerton Branch Library summer reading programs, with the theme of “Tails and Tales”, will run from June 7 through June 29, 2021. The library will hold many special programs throughout the month on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mark these dates on your calendar!
Enjoy Story Time at the library on the Mondays of June 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 11:00am. Open to all ages, stories will be read, and there will also be a correlating craft and snack. Patrons can join Story Time, or stop in to the library and pick up a make and take craft and snack to enjoy at home.
Tuesdays will be filled with exciting special events, featuring special guests you’re not going to want to miss! The first special program will be held on June 8 at 1:00pm. The Toledo Zoo Outreach Dept. will be sharing information about some of your favorite animals. Although no live animals will be visiting, the zoo will share skulls, fur, and other fun animal facts. Then, make sure to attend the “Operation Life Saver Rail Safety” program at 11:00am on June 15. Alan Stouder, State Coordinator of Rail Safety Ohio, will be reading stories and discussing trains, along with rail safety. Mark your calendars for the Edgerton Library Pet Parade on June 22 at 11:00am! “Strut your Mutt” or pet at the library! Treats will be provided for patrons and pets. Make sure to pose for a picture with your furry friend, at the library photo op! The final Tuesday program will end with a show from Cirque Amongus on June 29 at 2:00pm. The circus is coming to the Edgerton Library…well, the circus performers are coming and you’re going to want to see the amazing feats they are going to perform! Join us for this fun and exciting extravaganza where circus performers will show off their fancy tricks!
Wednesday programming will continue with visits from special guests, and exciting exhibits. Back by popular demand, Exotic Zoo will be at the library on June 9 at 11:00am. At their last visit, Exotic Zoo brought a kangaroo as a special guest! Join us to see what surprise animals they will bring this time around, for an educational, exotic wildlife animal adventure! Then, on June 16 at 11:00am, attend the Team Zoom Canine Entertainment performance, perfect for all ages! This action packed event features expertly trained dogs showcasing unbelievably long Frisbee catches and gravity defying agility vaults, to jumping rope, hula-hooping, dancing and darting through an obstacle course. Team Zoom has performed at dog shows throughout the Midwest, and now is stopping by the Edgerton Library! Make sure to attend this mind blowing performance! At 2:00pm on June 23, take part in “Drummunity”. A “drummunity” circle is a high energy, fun, and empowering activity for any age. The drum circle facilitator will bring her collection of instruments to transform our community into a drummunity!
Lego Club will be held on the Thursdays of June 10, 17, and 24. Open to Kindergarten through 6th Grade students, Lego Club will meet from 11:00am to noon. This program is limited to 25 participants, and registration is required. Masks must be worn.
