Edgerton Branch Library Meet WCPL Youth Services Manager Libby Daniel 1. Tell us a little about yourself. I’m originally from Ney, OH, in Defiance County. Growing up the library was my favorite place to be! I used to visit the Bryan Library often. I still have my card from 20 years ago! I have a lot of hobbies and interests, but my favorites are reading (of course) art, and history. I also like to watch movies, cook, and play video games & board games. 2. What have you most enjoyed about being the Youth Services Manager for WCPL? Getting to know all of the kids, their families, and the teachers who serve our community is a privilege and a blessing. Every day is a new adventure with new people and I enjoy that aspect of my job more and more the longer I work at it. 3. What is a service that WCPL offers that you wish the community were more aware of? I always encourage parents to download our SEO Library app. It allows you to keep all of your family’s library cards on your phone, order books, keep track of current checkouts and holds, download eBooks and audiobooks, and browse the catalog all from the comfort of your home. In these days when everyone is busy and overwhelmed, it makes using the library easier. 4. Favorite Book? My favorites tend to fluctuate based on the mood I’m in, but I read The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien when I was younger and it is a book I keep coming back to. My favorite picture book right now is A Visit to William Blake’s Inn: Poems for Innocent and Experienced Travelers by Nancy Willard. 5. What is something about the town of Bryan that you enjoy? I love how diverse Bryan is and how many cool things there are to do. I’ve met so many people with different backgrounds and experiences which has really broadened my perspective. And there are so many beautiful parks, unique small businesses, and delicious places to eat! It’s difficult to be bored in a place so full of interesting things. 6. What Bryan Main Library Summer Reading event are you most excited about? I am so excited to have the Exotic Zoo return to Bryan, especially since we’re hosting in partnership with Fountain City Amphitheater this year! There will be a variety of exotic animals to see and there’s no sign up required this time. Come see us at the Amphitheater on July 3rd at 10am!
