The Williams County Public Library is currently hiring for a Local History Center Manager. The position will be full-time at 40 hours per week, including some evenings.
Responsibilities:
The Local History Center Manager duties include the following:

Works directly with patrons and does in-depth research within and outside of our local service area.

Works with the local Historical societies to provide informational access.

Maintains the Local History/Genealogy collection, which includes adding and withdrawing materials, including periodicals, microfilm, microfiche, vertical files, special collections, photographs, maps, etc.

Maintains and administers special projects or collections including the Photographic Archives, the Van Gundy Files, The Maynard Files, etc.

Develops workshops, seminars and conferences.

Orchestrates special projects and develops grants.

Trains staff on the use of the Local History Collection.

Creates and implements goals and objectives as approved by the Director.

Schedules department and evaluates assistants.

Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the Director.

Required to attend at least 2 workshops or continuing education seminars outside of the Library each year.

This is a salaried position and the employee is required to work at least 40 hours a week.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. MLS from an ALA accredited school (preferred), or relevant experience. Demonstrated customer service skills and commitment to excellent public service required. Must be able to meet the flexible scheduling requirements of the library. Ability to perform the major functions of the position. Starting salary will be based upon the level of education and relevant experience.
