Pioneer Branch Library Summer Reading 2024

The Pioneer Branch Library will hold summer reading programs through June 3rd and July.  “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and this year there will be stories, games, activities, and special visitors all included in the summer fun, including themed programs and prizes! 


Little Explorers Story Time, Wednesdays, 11:00AM

Children up to age 6 are invited to listen to stories read by library staff and make age appropriate crafts and games!

Kids Bingo, Thursdays, 3:00PM, Kids & Teens can play Bingo and win prizes! 


NOCAC Free Lunch Program, June 3rd-July 25th, 12:15PM-12:45PM                  

Kids are invited to enjoy a nutritional lunch on the library lawn Monday through Friday, during the summer. Attend Summer Reading programs afterwards! There will be no lunch on June 19th and July 4th.

International Tuesdays, Tuesdays in June, 1:00PM                                                  

Explore books from around the world! Kids are invited to taste a sample or selection of books with an “international” or “travel/adventure” theme. Rotate among tables to discover new stories & adventures!

Movie Wednesdays, Wednesdays in June, 1:00PM                                                 

Families are invited to watch weekly “adventure” movies! Snacks provided. June 5th: The Adventures of Milo and Otis. June 12th: Brother Bear. June 19th: Homeward Bound. June 26th: The Incredibles

Create an Adventure Pack Journal, June 6th, 1:00PM, For Kids Ages 4 & Older    

Tie-Dye T-Shirt, June 7th, 1:00PM

Families are invited to tie-dye a shirt for summer! All supplies provided. Spots are limited. Register.

Police & K9 Heroes, At Crommer Park Parking Lot, June 10th, 1:00PM                                 

Check out police vehicles, meet the officers and K9 Vader! Open to all ages.

In a World...Bucket List Journal & Fantasies, June 13th, 1:00PM                      

Kids will assemble a bucket list journal to record their dreams and adventures. All kids welcome!

The Unbreakable Code, June 14th, 1:00PM                                                        

Discover the Secret Code that changed history! Learn about the Navajo code talkers and the unbreakable code developed in WWII. Learn how to use this code to send messages to your friends. 

Geode Geologist, June 20th, 1:00PM                                                                   

Learn about geodes and how they form. Split your own geodes. Explore various types of rocks!

Kids Kamp, June 21st, 1:00PM                                                                                                 

Learn how to set up a campsite, and enjoy a story time around the “campfire” with stuffed animal friends

Outdoor Painting on the Library Lawn, June 27th, 1:00PM                                

Kids can try painting with various methods and tools, including bubbles!

Community Adventure, July 8th, 1:00PM, Open to All Ages, Prizes for Winners!                   

Form teams (or individuals) to explore the community, and find hidden treasures! Complete challenges!

Summer Fun Day at Crommer Park Shelter House, July 12th, 12:00PM –4:00PM                 

Visit with Outreach Manager Loni Smith; play yard games, listen to music and story time. Ride in Furry Oversized Animal Karts from Four of a Kind Entertainment from 12pm to 3pm. There will be a free book giveaway and free bottled water while supplies last.

Ultimate Road Trip Planners, July 12th, 1:00PM
