The WCPL Local History Center is pleased to announce its line-up for this year’s Murder & Mayhem Week. Listen to tales of the supernatural, murder, and horror brought to you by a special speaker each night of October 22nd through the 24th. All programs will be held in the Harmon Room at 6:30 pm, and are free to the public.

Tuesday, October 22nd – Austin Maynard, local parapsychologist, will share with us his adventures in ghost hunting and the supernatural. The architecture of the recent supernatural tour of Bryan will offer a glimpse into the world of parapsychology and the techniques used in this field.

Wednesday, October 23rd – Local historian Kevin Maynard reprises his presentation on the murder of young David Schamp that resulted in the only public hanging in Williams County. Come hear the gripping tale of deceit, murder, and revenge.

Thursday, October 24th --- LHC assistant Denver Henderson presents his “Encounter with Poe”. The first Master of Horror is brought to life through his letters, stories, and poems.  From the ‘Tell-Tale Heart’ to ‘the Raven’ hear the best of America’s macabre genius.
