Letter from the Director on Library Reopening

Dear Williams County Public Library patron,

We sure miss seeing you, and hope you are staying safe and healthy during these challenging times. As the state starts to reopen, the library is busy getting ready to once again offer library services. Employees are examining new ways to get books into your hands, rearranging our spaces to meet social distancing guidelines, and ensuring we have the necessary PPE to keep everyone safe.

Our reopening will depend on guidance from local, state, and national health officials, and   the availability of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for our staff. We will provide advance notice and specifics of locations and services as soon as it is available. We are hopeful that we can offer curbside service soon. Until then, all Library locations remain closed.

We are coordinating with libraries throughout Ohio, and large public library systems from around the country, to share best practices and develop plans to serve you safely and effectively. We are evaluating recommendations for cleaning/sanitizing/quarantining library materials, and will be adapting our procedures to ensure proper social distancing for staff and patrons.

While our locations may be closed, the Library is not closed for business. You can access many resources at mywcpl.org including downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, streaming movies and music, plus online learning tools such as Lynda.com and Ancestry.com. We are also offering many online events such as story times on Facebook Live. If you have a question, you can email the library at info@mywcpl.org

Please stay safe and we hope to see you soon!

Best,
Jeff Yahraus, Director
