West Unity Branch Library Summer Reading 2024

The West Unity Branch Library will hold summer reading programs through June 3rd and July.  “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and this year there will be stories, games, activities, music, prizes, and special visitors all included in the summer fun!

Kids Garden Club, Wednesdays, 4:00PM, Tend to the library garden beds & learn about gardening! 

READ 2 ME, Wednesdays, 3:00PM, Kids can practice reading to a staff member.

From stunts, to tricks, and dance routines, the Zoom dog performers put on an amazing show for all ages!

Professor Tony (A Professor of Nonsense & Throwing Things), June 6th, 1:00PM 

Tony will put a wildly fun show for all ages, featuring comedy, juggling, magic, & audience participation!

Jim Basketball Jones, June 18th, 1:00PM 

This is a fun and active program as kids get the chance to keep up with some of Jim’s basketball moves. Jim will challenge them to do their best and keep trying. Open to all ages.

Exotic Zoo, June 20th, 3:00PM, Open To All Ages  

The Exotic Zoo is a safe & educational way to learn about wild animals. Come see, feel, feed, & observe animals that we don’t normally see in our community! You never know what animal you’ll meet!

Homeschooling Day-Seashell Day, June 21st, 10:00AM, Register       

Pajama Party, June 24th, 5:00PM, For Pre-K-2nd Grade 

Kids can wear their pj’s and enjoy breakfast for supper! There will be dancing, crafts, and more! Register.

Water Fun, June 25th, 1:00PM, For Kids Of All Ages 

Come dressed to get wet and have some water fun! Play games like bucket brigade, sink or float, & more.

Learn About Fire Safety with Brady Fire Dept., June 27th, 1:00PM

Library Lock-In, June 28th, 5:00PM-9:45PM, For Kids Who Have Completed 3rd Grade & Up 

Kids will start the night with pizza for supper. Then enjoy activities including crafts, games, dancing, snacks, and the famous hide and seek in the library! Register.

Watch videos about space and science. Then do several STEM activities. For kids of all ages.          

Make Moon Slime, July 18th, 1:00PM, Register  

Summer Fun Day at Memorial Park Shelter House, July 19th, 12:00PM –4:00PM

Visit with Outreach Manager Loni Smith; play yard games, listen to music and story time. Ride in Furry Oversized Animal Karts from Four of a Kind Entertainment from 12pm to 3pm. There will be a free book giveaway and free bottled water while supplies last.

Local dog trainer JJ Daggett will show training techniques with therapy dogs and will talk about the 4-H dog program. Register.

Adventure Hike, July 26th, 1:00PM, Meet At The Library 

Kids go on a hike at Wabash Park. Must be accompanied by an adult.  

Uganda With Shirley Wagner, July 29th, 6:00PM 

Learn about Uganda from Shirley Wagner, who recently went there on a missions trip. View clothing and interesting items from the area. Taste regional foods and make crafts.  

Around the World Ice Cream Sundae Party, July 30th, 1:00PM 

Enjoy ice cream sundaes with toppings from around the world!
